It's all started with cradles... The first form of a rocker was a rocking cradle for infants. It took a little more than a century for someone to come up with the idea of putting rockers on chairs for adults. It is commonly believed that Benjamin Franklin invented the rocking chair. While that wouldn't be surprising, it's never been proven. Nevertheless, someone did it. An American invention, rocking chairs quickly became a part of every household and many businesses. While there were some who viewed it as a contraption for the lazy, it was adapted to serve many purposes. Furniture historians refer to rocking chairs as "the most popular and best loved chair ever made." Why, then, are they currently making a mass exodus?
